The Aroma of a Fresh Bake Sale
« on: September 01, 2015, 09:47:04 pm »
Fleur was panting when she finally reached the campus of Canterlot High. She saw the one car pulled up in the front of the school.

Anyone nearby could hear a older woman scolding Fleur. "I had to wait for 15 minutes at this trashy public school. Next time be on time or you are walking everywhere!" The car sped off.

Fleur hung her head a little bit before carrying two large boxes and placing them on the table under a tent in front of Canterlot High on the grass. There was a decorated sign on the front and other members volunteering to help already setting up.

This must be a record for Agilene; arriving at school twice in a weekend. This time isn't so bad, however, because she knows there are treats waiting to be eaten. Walking up to the front of the school, a tent with a table underneath, and students surrounding it stood. Among the students, she spotted Fleur, the Crystal Prep girl she had a rather tense encounter with at the cafe earlier. Agilene walked up to her, greeting her with a raised hand, "Hello, Fleur. Do you require any help setting up?"

As Foxtrot follows the others to the school, he slows his pace once he gets to his destination. "Huh, so this is Canterlot High. Not bad." The comments from Fleur's mother appear to contradict his statement, but that's just an opinion. He strolls over to the tables and tents, breathing in the sweet smells of baked goods; thankfully he brought his wallet. As Agilene offered assistance, Foxtrot looks around to find a good spot to play, keeping an ear out if Fleur or Lotus needed his aid for anything.

*sigh. The french teenage was a bit down in the dumps before she heard a familiar voice. "Oh! Bonjour Agilene! Good to see you made it, sorry I kind of took off midway. I probably jay walked like 5 times. I'm surprised I didn't die or get hit by any cars..." Fleur looked around. "No... I think I am good for now. But you can hang around here until we open up!" She reached into a cooler and offered Agilene some cola. "So how is your life at Canterlot high? Can't be worse than mine at Crystal Prep..."

"It sounds like you had a fun time walking here." Agilene removed her backpack, and dropped it on the grass. She leaned on the edge of the table, and gazed up at the blue sky.The lack of clouds made her grin. Clear skies; perfect weather for a bake sale. Agilene turned to Fleur, who offered her a cola, and she happily took it. "And define 'worse'. To tell you the truth, sometimes I'd much rather be off somewhere else than here." She opened the drink and gave it a sip. "How about you? What is it like in Crystal Prep?"

Choc was walking past CHS on his way home from work, when he spotted a large group of CHS students gathered around, preparing tables and placing baked goods on a table. "So Canterlot High has set up a bake sale. How...intriguing. I guess it couldn't hurt to go grab something. Might even let me see if they can beat me at baking." Choc turned towards the tables and started to walk closer, untill he spotted Fleur Dis Lee. "I wonder why she is here?" Choc stood there, a mixture of intrigue and confusion on his face. I thought Fleur went to Crystal Prep with me? What is she doing hanging around a Canterlot High bake sale? Choc thought to himself as he started preparing to send quite a few questions at his Crystal Prep classmate.

Fleur grabbed herself a cola, opened the can and took a sip.
"Really? I heard from everyone at CHS that they love it there and you guys are all together bonded... Crystal Prep is a nice school. Principle Cadance is a nice lady, but I just hate being surrounded by those kids. I have to put on this mask of a different person when I go there that I'm some stuck up, snotty, b*** of a girl. I have to act like a w***e and be around guys and girls I really honestly don't like. Everyone there is smart, athletic and motivated. I'm fine with that, but the competitions for anything is crazy. CHS seems just so connected and very authentic students who aren't two faced. It's like you can be yourself. You guys have united and defeated some super natural stuff I heard..." Fleur took another drink before spittiting it out on the ground.
"Oh no. That's Choc Pretzel. Shoot, this darn uniform makes me stick out. I gotta hide. Crystal Prep kids can't see me helping out and hanging around here!" She shoved the soda in the direction of Ageline's hands before diving behind the table to hide.

Lotus arrived and began drowning into her own work with making sure everything was perfect before putting up a menu and taking the covers off all of the boxes releasing the amazing aroma even further into the air.
Suddenly her phone rang.
"Hello? YOU WHAT? OH MY GOD ALOE! I'LL BE THERE JUST HANG TIGHT!" Lotus hung up. "I am so sorry. Something has happened at the spa. I'll try to get back as soon as possible. These students here can run the bake sale for a little  bit, but Agilene can you just keep an eye out? Thank you!" Lotus ran off down the street.

As Choc approached, one of the CHS girls answered her phone, yelled something he couldn't hear, then broke away, running past him as she went. Isn't that one of the Spa Twins? Lotus, I think her name was. Or was it Aloe? Choc thought to himself. He looked back to the tables and saw that they were still setting up, so he found a nice shady spot, and sat down, trying to spot Fleur, who had seemed to have remived herself from the group.

Agilene watched Fleur hide under the table, confused. Choc Pretzel, she mentioned. To Agilene, the name sounded like it belonged to some baker from a run down restaurant. "Fleur, what's the matter?" Agilene asked, feeling concerned.

"Choc Pretzel is a kid from my school. If the Crystal Prep kids find out I am helping out CHS and hanging out with CHS students, my life will turn upside down." She said still on her knees crouched underneath the table. Crystal Prep is your school's rival. They want to be better at you guys at everything. I'll be labeled as some sort of traitor."

Agilened turned away from the table to face the sidewalk. She looked left and right, trying to spot someone who appears to be from Crystal Prep. Nothing but an elder couple walking by, a few CHS students, and a boy sitting under some shade. "What does he look like? I can keep a lookout for him."

Fleur picked her head up from under the table and pointed at Choc.
"There he is right there. Oh no he's coming!" SHe went back underneath.

Foxtrot couldn't help but wander around the bake sale, the aroma of fresh baked goods surrounding him to each table with hungry eyes. "Well, I'm going to be broke by the end of this. Worth it though." Returning back to Fleur's table, he finds Lotus rushing off to tend to something, Fleur under the table, and Agile scoping the area out. Assuming there's a logical explanation for this he shrugs it off and looks over to the shaded spot where Choc was sitting. Foxtrot walks over to the other prep student and sits down on the grass, slinging over his guitar. "Hey buddy, I need your help. I'm trying to set an atmosphere for the sale and I don't know what to go for. Should I try for relaxed and laid back or upbeat and energetic?"

Without moving her head, Agilene eyes the direction Fleur pointed at. Two boys having a conversation under some shade; one of whom she recognized as the future CHS transfer student with a guitar. Foxtrot was his name, wasn't it? And another who she did not recognize. It must be Choc. "So that's him. He is with that guitar player we met earlier."
