Title: Hideout
Post by: Choc Pretzel on October 22, 2015, 05:11:00 pm
Choc weaved through the allyways of Canterlot with surprising speed. Gotta get home. Gotta get home. He thought as he ran. Choc turned into a dead end and looked down, only to find out that his coat had started to change colour, and his horn had started to dissapear. "No! Not yet!" was all he could say as his form shifted.

Plaster... Paint... Milk... Exiting a convenient shop, Agilene skims through her shopping list, ensuring that every item she wanted was aquired. Feeling satisfied, she stores the paper in her backpack of supplies, then begins making her way home. All she needs is to board the train; if only it weren't dozens of blocks away from where she is. Luckily there are shortcuts, and what better kinds of short cuts are alleyways? With that thought in mind, Agilene walks into the first back street she finds.

Making five or so turns, she ends up at an intersection connecting four different paths: Three of them leading to an exit, while one only comes to a dead end. The pegasus takes the path straight ahead of her. Upon leaving the intersection, however, she hears a distressed sounding cry to her right. Turning to the sound, she notices somepony at the dead end. The way he acted was unsettling, and his coat color appeared to be transitioning into another. Agilene attempts to grab his attention, "Sir, are you alright?"

As his form started to settle, Ocean turned towards the mare who had walked up to him. "Oh crap. Promise me you won't tell anybody about this, okay?" Ocean streched the wings that had formed on his back as he spoke, getting ready to shoot up into the clouds.

Agilene raised an eyebrow, astounded at what had just happened in front of her. She's heard of all kinds of strange magic in Equestria, but this was a first time for her. Although the pegasus was no expert in magic, she didn't think it was possible for this stallion to morph from a unicorn to a pegasus, all the while changing his coat color.

Wondering if he needs help, Agilene takes a step forward, "Hold on a minute, do you need any help?"

"Oh, nononononono, I'll be fine. My braclet just ran out of charge is all." Ocean smiled at the mare. "I guess I owe you an explanation. My name is Ocean Spray, and I'm one of a few shifters left in Equestria." he said, folding his wings back up.

"Well... Alright." Though it all seemed bizarre, Agilene was relieved to know Ocean wasn't in any sort of danger. "Is it good or bad that I have never heard of these 'shifters'?"

"Probably good. Means that your less likley to try and hand me over to the cops. There's a stigma around shifters that we're all criminals. I'm not, just so you know, but a lot of shifters are." Ocean ajusted his braclet. "Now, I should get going. I need to recharge this bracelet, and the only pony who knows how is in Manehattan. Thanks for not freaking out, by the way."

"You're lucky I'm not one to 'freak out' by unusual events, such as yours." AGilene eyed his bracelet. "Sorry if it seems I am keeping you here, but this whole thing already intrigues me. Where did you get your bracelet?"

"Oh, this old thing? I got it on the black market. It helps to lengthen the time I can spend in a certain form. Problem is, it runs out of magical energy very quickly." he said to Agilene. "If I was a unicorn, I could recharge it myself, but as you can see, I'm a pegasus, which doesn't help much with magic. And the spell would leave me unconsious for a few days anyway, which would be problematic."

"Black Market. I should have guessed," AGilene commented. "Anyways, you should get going now. Hopefully I did not keep you for too long with my questions."

"It's no problem." Ocean went to walk away, then turned back. "Oh, you wouldn't happen to know the fastest route to the train station without being seen, would you?"

"Funny you should mention that. I was on my way to there before seeing you." Agilene returns to her previous path through the alley way, then stops to face Ocean. "If you want, you can follow me. But I am not sure why you are afraid of being spotted. You did change forms after all." She looked up at the sky, "Now that I think of it, I don't see the point in walking if we can both simply fly."

"I'd rather not be spotted. Last time someone saw me in this form, I got chased out of Baltimare." he said with a sigh. "Although, Going from rooftop to rooftop might work." Looking up, Ocean noticed an area where he would be able to get some purchase on the roof. "So, you game? Or, I could follow from above. It's your choice, if your still willing to help that is."

"Let's get going, then." Agilene looks up at the walls, and finds enough footholds for her to jump onto. There are vents sticking out, window sills, and wires with clothes hanging on to dry; enough to use like a ladder. Combining the push of her legs, and flap of her wings, Agilene takes off. One by one, she leaps onto the footholds. Though they were small, she manages to land flawlessly on each one until eventually reaching the top.

"Impressive." Ocean quickly followed suit, weaving his body around the side of the building until he reached where Agilene was standing. "Okay. So where up here. Lead the way, jose."

Agilene stands on the edge of the roof, and gazes far at the horizon. "My name is Agilene, by the way. Sorry for not introducing earlier." Between all the buildings and flying pegasi, she spots the train station ahead, but no train stopped. She bats an eye at Ocean, and points at the direction of the train, "This way." With that, she leaps off the roof, and lands onto a lower roof.

Following Agilene, Ocean kept an eye out on the ground below, using timed movements to maximise the distance he could get out of each jump. "Agilene, huh? Nice name." Spotting the train station, he smiled. "There it is."

Agilene leaped from building to building toward the direction of the station. From what she could tell, there are only a few more jumps left till they arrive. "We're almost there. Do you know where this Black Market is?"

"It's situated in an abandoned underground storage facility. Problem is it's in the middle of the city. By then I should be able to shift for just enough time to reach the entrance, which is hidden in the Central Park." Using his wings, Ocean jumped over one of the larger gaps between buildings. "Why do you ask?"

Agilene lands on a building, and looks down at the station below. The crowd waiting for the train is average; not too many people, but it can get tight once the train arrives, and its doors open. "Just out of curiosity," Agilene responds to Ocean's question.

Landing next to Agilene, Ocean gave a sigh. "Dammit. Looks like they have guards posted at all the doors. I should be able to sneak through in the crowd, but let's just hope none of them were ever posted in Ponyville." Ocean jumped down from the building, landing with a soft thud as he used his wings to slow his descent. "Thanks for the help, Agilene. We should catch up after I get back, maybe hit the town? Friends are hard to find in this town, after all."

Agilene followed Ocean down to the ground. She keeps an eye on the guards stationed everywhere before turning to Ocean. "It's my pleasure, Ocean. And yes, we should see each other again after you are finished with your duties."

Ocean said his goodbyes to Agilene and headed into the open, keeping his head down and not making eye contact with anypony. Once he was past the guards, he went to a booth, paid for a ticket to Manehattan, and then waited for the train to come.
